If You Need To Glue Metal, This Is It. I had a grease fitting break off a riding mower. Had to drill out the broken portion because extractors didn't work which left me with a stripped hole. I could have disassembled the mower, tapped the hole for a larger grease fitting, and screwed the new one in which would have been labor intensive. Instead I purchased a same size replacement grease fitting and glued it to the hole. It says on the package that it has a tensile strength of 900 PSI and withstands temps up to 300 degrees F. The next day, I attached a grease gun and pumped grease into the glued fitting. Worked like a champ. The mower steers easily now. I have used JB products to fix plastic and now metal components. I hear they have something that can glue under water. Great stuff.
I broke a leg off my grandmother's 1940's wrought iron outdoor side table and was sick about it. Before tossing it in the trash, I decided to try a this Weld Steelstik. It was a clean straight across break (I had dropped the table too hard on cement). I thoroughly washed and sandpapered the leg section. You have to work quick with this. I decided to do 1/2 at a time, about 1" of putty for each side. I had my doubts it would hold at first, I physically had to hold the leg joined together for around 10 minutes. Then I let it cure for 60 minutes and did the other half. So thrilled that this works. I will have to paint the table to hide the gray but the table's been painted many times throughout the years.
This is great stuff. It worked to build a gate latch and it set hard in a few minutes as per the directions.Easy to use and creates a solid bond.
